Missing the gym? Join Forever Ahead Community in tracking 100 miles on your own, 1000 miles in a group of up to 10 or 10000 mile in a group of 50+ over the course of 30 days. However you want to exercise (walk, run, cycle, scoot, golf….even tennis!), sign up at any time and you can keep active while also helping anyone who needs support for their well-being or struggling with putting food on the table.
Helping others is at the core of Forever Ahead Community, offering counselling and support groups without the waiting list or lengthy referral process. With the unprecedented lock down measures brought in to combat COVID19, mental health and well-being of so many people has deteriorated and household incomes have been impacted. Forever Ahead Community is teaming up with The Trussell Trust (Foodbank) to help those who are affected most to ensure that support is on hand.
Entry is free, however you can help our causes by donating £10 to take part in our #ForeverAheadChallenge as well as encouraging people to sponsor you via our JustGiving page and help us reach our £1000 target. Every entry will receive a printable certificate with name and mileage achieved upon receipt of your tracking.
Complete the form to enter and share your progress on our Facebook page on your way to reaching your goal. The more updates that are shared, the more everyone will be motivated and can celebrate each other’s achievements. Make sure you don’t forget to use the hashtag matching your challenge!
We would ask that everyone taking part completes our short anonymous questionnaire (CORE-10), aimed at giving you an insight into your own mental wellbeing.
Raising Awareness and much needed funds for
Forever Ahead Community & The Trussell Trust (Foodbank)
(Picture drawn by Billy Bettenson - aged 13. Thank you for the inspiration Billy!)
During these times when we stay at home,
People in household groups, or even alone.
There are no big gatherings or friends in tow,
The gyms are shut and motivation is low.
We needed some air to refresh our minds,
Walk, cycle, or run - but just one at a time!
Then Boris said "tennis and golf - unlimited exercise",
"But still no gyms - and please, nothing inside!"
So what is our goal, or our destination,
How can we spark our motivation?
Build up your miles and track your distance,
There's are targets in mind, but we need your assistance!
Let's raise awareness and lots of money,
So folk can talk and have food in their tummy.
For Mental Health and Poverty that's spread,
We do it Together Alone, Forever Ahead.
